Along with
her in-studio painting and sculpting classes, Marta has taught
for the Vancouver and West Vancouver School Boards, ArtsStarts
in Schools, Learning Through the Arts and Arts Umbrella. Her extensive
teaching experience includes over 100 residencies throughout the
Lower Mainland.
Marta's
projects employ a variety of techniques and themes that integrate
the sciences and humanities through art. She often relates myth
and folklore to nature's cycles, stimulating an empathy towards
other species and an excitement about our evolving human story.
These projects
are designed to facilitate students in assimilating and expressing
an awareness of themselves in relation to their environment, the
culture they create and their choices as stewards of the planet.
Marta offers
a broad range of workshops to choose from including drawing, painting,
printmaking, clay sculpting, mask making and murals. Her ideas
and techniques easily accommodate school curriculums and many
of the projects use standard school supplies. The classes are
designed to introduce new combinations of techniques and materials
in a series of demonstrations that build skills towards executing
ideas.
